Dr. Aimee Brookens

Dr. Aimee Brookens is a pediatrician whose passion for serving the most vulnerable has driven her 25-year career from Marquette, MI to Mid-Michigan and abroad. Dr. Brookens provided compassionate healthcare to those in need in Honduras and Brazil during her college years and in Kenya while earning her Doctorate of Osteopathy at Michigan State University (MSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has since served the Mid-Michigan community for over 15 years, providing her expertise as a full-time pediatrician, a physician for the Ingham County Health Department’s Mobile Health Unit, and a preceptor across three MSU medical programs.
Abby Daugherty, CPA

Principal, Maner Costerian
Abby is a principal in Maner’s Accounting and Outsourced Solutions department, where she provides tailored outsourced services that solve problems and make her clients’ lives easier.
After beginning her career at Maner in 2013, Abby left the firm to work for a large national insurance company. In this role, she gained four years of experience on the client side, learning first-hand their challenges, concerns and problems. Her time outside of public accounting helped to strengthen her skills and provided her with a unique ability to relate to and support her clients.
Abby returned to Maner because of the flexible, family-oriented culture and the firm’s ongoing commitment to community involvement and outreach (two things that are very important to her personally). A recipient of the MICPA Emerging Leaders award in 2017, Abby’s goal is to share her experience and knowledge with her clients to help them be successful.
Passionate about finding realistic, actionable solutions, Abby enjoys partnering with clients to solve challenges. She works primarily with nonprofit organizations and is driven to help mission-based organizations make a meaningful impact in their communities.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a Master of Science in Accounting, Abby and her husband, Kyle, and two young kids, Charlotte and Jameson, reside in Okemos, Michigan. Abby is a dedicated and hands-on mom who is passionate about helping her children grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.

Kelly Pino is a dedicated nonprofit leader with 22 years of experience advancing mission-driven organizations through strategic development, fundraising, and relationship building. As Director of Development, Kelly brings extensive expertise in grant writing, team building, donor engagement, and creating sustainable fundraising strategies. With a strong commitment to community impact, Kelly combines practical experience, strategic thinking, and a genuine passion for helping nonprofit organizations thrive.
